Predicto World Cup - The Presentation

The last piece of business to take care of in the Predicto World Cup 2014, the presentation of the Trophy. I have the opportunity to pop over to the Lang Toun yesterday to (reluctantly) hand over the trophy to the new Predicto World Cup Champion, Shoom

The Trophy is now Shooms for the next four years, take good care of it neebs!

Predicto World Cup - Full Time / Final update 14th July

That was probably one of the best finals i have watched, didn't want it to end.

As im sure everyone has worked out now, Shoom is the Predicto World Cup winner, congratulations neebs, an excellent tournament from you, holding onto the lead as long as you did is no mean feat.

Commiserations to Jean, a great effort in pushing Shoom all the way, and right through the extra time.

Everyone else - shame on you, terrible performances, and double shame on me - winner to third last in four little years (take note Shoom!)

This has been a great world cup, i have enjoyed (nearly - looking at you Nigeria v Iran) every match, great entertainment, great goals - hopefully the Predicto World Cup enhanced it for you all too a little bit.

so thats it for the summer, league business will resume in August, and we will be back in two years for the next Euro Predicto Championship where we will see if Jean can retain the title.

Predicto World Cup - update and Final Breakdown 13th July

Looks like we have a final on our hands!

If you are following closely you will have noticed that Jean got the point last night and is now only one point behind Shoom, lets have a quick look at what they have for tonights game

Shoom
Away
Jean
Home

Which means, an Argentine win tonight (or a draw) and Shoom wins the Predicto World Cup.

If Germany win there is a tie at the top and we have to consult the tie break

Shoom
150
Jean
139

At the moment there have been 170 goals, which means in the event of a German Win, Shoom takes the Predicto World Cup on the tie break.

However, its not all bad news for Jean, she has a joker in the pack - one Sergio Aguero. Should he score combined with a German win and we have another stunning come from behind victory by Jean.

FLASHBACK - as a reminder, she won the Euro Predicto Championship in the last game, by a Torres goal and the tie break - so dont write her off yet

And on to the breakdown for the Final tonight.

Germany are heavily backed with only Ben, Sean, Wiffy and of course, Shoom backing Argentina

plus we have Robbo, Sally and Tadga going for the draw, but everyone else is going Germany

There are a bunch of other scorers involved but failing Loaf’s prediction of a 12-0 Argentina win with Higuain scoring 11 (not even enough for me to catch Shoom) they probably won't have much impact on the final standings
